Andy Warhol and The Factory part of Art Basel week

The Kiwi Art Group has a special showing during Art Basel week.

A portfolio created in partnership with the Andy Warhol Museum, features five very personal photographs of Andy Warhol at the Factory in 1964 with some of his most famous works plus a selection of rare, early original drawings by Andy Warhol from the 1950s. I think I have read everything there is on Andy Warhol (including the huge volume of diaries), I'm looking forward to this.

From the Kiwi Art website: "Shot in the early 1960s when fine art photographer William John Kennedy and his wife, Marie, forged a friendship with Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana, this recently published collection of images capture the two artists and their most iconic works at the rise of the Pop Art Movement. Kennedy's extraordinary photographs — which lay in storage for nearly 50 years — reveal a story of the pivotal moments and players who shaped the course of American art in the second half of the 20th century, including James Rosenquist, Roy Lichtenstein, Henry Geldzahler, Dorothy Miller, Claes Oldenburg and Eleanor Ward."

The exhibition is part of other exhibits at Kiwi during Art Basel Week, from December 3 through 8, 2013. There is  a cocktail reception on December 5 from 7 to 11 pm.

The Kiwi Art Group is located at 48 NW 29th St. Miami, for info: 305.200.3047.
