The American Legion post #182 is holding the annual Veterans Day Parade on Friday, November 11 from 9 pm to noon. I went last year and it was a lot of fun and very patriotic, too.
It starts at Christ Episcopal Church (3481 Hibiscus Street) and ends at Coconut Grove Cemetery at Douglas and Franklin where the procession will stop for a moment of silence for fallen veterans.
Music and singing will accompany the march. Police, fire and veterans will be part of the parade. The procession will then head back to the church where they will have hot dogs and soft drinks.
