21st Century botanical gardens subject of lecture

Botanic gardens have a long tradition. In the 21st century, we see new contexts and new approaches to carry the tradition forward. Dr. M. Patrick Griffith (left) will discuss how his work at Montgomery Botanical Center accomplishes the traditional horticulture mission with new tools, in a changing world at the next Kampong Lecture Series on Thursday, November 17 at 7 pm. Coffee and dessert reception starts at 6:30 pm.

Dr. M. Patrick Griffith has led Montgomery Botanical Center since 2005. Patrick has worked in living collections management, herbarium curation, rare plant survey, floristic inventory, lab research and land management. Patrick's academic activity has been in plant systematics and plant conservation, and is focused on living plant collections.

The Kampong is at 4013 South Douglas Road, for info: 305-442-7169.
