Where is the Great Taste of the Grove?

We've been getting calls about the Great Taste of the Grove. It is not being held this month, it has been moved to April. I know, I wish we had it this month, too. For one reason, the month of January is quite blah, and it would be nice to have a big event. Also, the April event is the 16th and 17th, a week before Easter, which is April 24, but may affect some who are going out of town for the whole week.

The BID Marketing Committee agreed to give $21,500 to the Great Taste this year to help them put on the event. Last year they gave $23,000, the extra $1500 was used for advertising. You may remember it was a cold, rainy weekend last year but even so, the Chamber almost broke even on the event. It is of course, hoped that it will be a perfect April weekend this year for the food fest. (Stories on last year's event here and here).

There is talk, nothing definite, but we hear that there may be another food festival to be held possibly in the Center Grove, on private property, in May.

The Coconut Grove Grapevine is a proud sponsor of this year's Great Taste of the Grove and also the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in February.
