Kampong lecture series continues

Roger Hammer shared this photo and story: Deering’s Partridge-Pea (Chamaecrista deeringiana) was discovered by botanist John Kunkel Small and named by him to honor his friend, Charles Deering, the wealthy industrialist who built his palatial estate along Biscayne Bay in the town of Cutler.

On Thursday, October 15 the Kampong Lecture Series continues with Roger Hammer's "The Trials and Tribulations of a South Florida Naturalist and Photographer."

The Kampong opens 6:30 pm. Reception is sponsored by Whole Foods Market and is featuring The Kampong’s new signature cocktail.

The lecture starts at 7 pm. Fellows and Members are invited to attend at no charge. For the general public, the suggested donation is $10.

Limited seating is available, so please RSVP to Iliana at 305.442.7169.
