Free event Monday night at GablesStage

GableStage at the Biltmore will present a reading of "Evicted - A Modern Lear Tale," by Richard Janaro on MOnday, June 10. The show is directed by Margaret M. Ledford.

The premise is that Gabriel Plunkett and his wife Lorelei are living on the streets after he loses his lucrative job as CEO of an investment company. Dissatisfied clients have sued him for all his money, and his furniture has been repossessed. He is still arrogant (like Lear), however, until an encounter with other street people during a wind and rain storm causes him to discover the humanity buried deep inside him.

Free with open seating. Valet parking is available, as well as free parking in the Biltmore parking area west of the hotel. Showtime is 7:30 pm.

GableStage at the Biltmore is located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables; for info: 305-446-1116.
