Sprung! Beer Festival takes over Peacock Park

As Bill Clinton (yes, that Bill Clinton), was checking into a Coconut Grove hotel yesterday, I couldn't help wonder if he was in town for the Sprung! Beer Festival in Peacock Park, because it's the sort of thing he would like. Judging by the crowd in the park, it's the type of thing lots of people like.

Over 150 Spring and Summer craft beers were on site! And there was lots of food and many of our Grove bars participated. It was great to see so many familiar faces.
Beer, food, live music and lots of games, what's not to like? I especially loved the old school parlor games that people were playing -- Twister, Beer Pong, Jenga and Bean Bag Toss were just a few of the games that didn't require chargers or cell phones and people had a lot of fun playing, just like yesteryear.

It was sort of like a Beer Garten, in that the beer booths surrounded the park and tables were set up in the center. There was plenty of beer tastings which were complimentary with your entry fee and of course you could purchase beer and food. Live music played all afternoon into the evening and as the red sunset fell over Coconut Grove, lots of happy wobbly people spread out into the village with a belly full of beer, after all, it was Saturday night.

That's Lee Kessler (left) owner of Barracuda, with me. I look like I'm drunk, but look at the size of his glass compared to mine. I'm pointing to his glass, I didn't realize what his shirt said until I saw the picture later.
