Crime Watch's Robert Loupo being honored

The All-Grove Crime Watch is holding its monthly meeting tonight, March 13 at 7 pm at St. Stephen's Church (2750 McFarlane Road) in the Great Room located at the rear of the church grounds.

Parking is free in the surface lot next to the church grounds. Let the parking attendant know you are there for the crime watch meeting.

And All-Grove Crime Watch Co-chair Robert Loupo is being honored on Sunday evening, March 17, by Equality Florida for his more than two decades of work to end the culture of bullying in schools and create safer schools for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students and all students -- along with Presidential Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco and dedicated community volunteer David Bloom.

Robert's continued work on behalf of these students and all students through the non-profit organization he co-founded, Safe Schools South Florida  and his dedication to All-Grove Crime Watch both stem in large part because 21 years ago he and a friend were victims of a vicious hate crime -- stabbed many times by a gang of teenagers and left for dead on South Beach.

Miraculously, both Robert and his friend survived. Given a second chance at life, Robert has dedicated his life to making the world a safer place for LGBT youth, and a safer community for everyone.

For tickets to the Equality Florida event, please go to www.eqfl.org/miamigala or call 305-335-2102. Tickets are $125 each. The event is at the Bass Museum, again on Sunday, March 17, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
