Artist, Marilyn Liedman's painting was chosen as the poster art for this year's Coconut Grove Arts Festival. The image was unveiled last night at a party at the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel here in Coconut Grove. The yearly party is a highlight each year. Marilyn's painting is quite interesting in the fact that it is a scene of a past Coconut Grove Arts Festival, right from the very pool deck, where the party was held. The festival is February 18, 19 and 20 this year. Right here along the Coconut Grove waterfront on S. Bayshore Drive.
Every year the unveiling is shown live on the NBC6 evening news. This year, local anchor Roxie Vargas was on hand to present live. As the excitement built, the room got hushed and Roxie presented the poster art live on the 6:00 news.
Guests included local politicians, artists, arts festival sponsors, friends and board members. There was lots to eat and drink and it's always a fun party every year.
