This weekend, The Coconut Grove Sailing Club (CGSC) is hosting the 470 North American Championship (Jan. 13-15).These sleek skiffs are an Olympic Class that will be at this summer's Olympics. Several of the registered competitors have been selected to represent the USA this summer in Weymouth, England. Olympian Amanda Clark (in photo) and a few of the other Olympic team members will be on hand Saturday morning, Jan. 14 at 9 am to speak with the club's Junior Sailors. All are welcome to listen in.
The Sailing Club will be hosting the Miami Invitational Open Elliott 6m Match Racing event in February with racing days of Friday, February 24 thru Sunday, February 26.
This event is closely associated with the Olympic Selection Process for the US Women's berth in the 2012 Olympics for the Match Racing event. CGSC will host an Introduction to Match Racing Presentation on Friday evening, February 24 in the Main Room upstairs at the Club. One or more of the competing teams will be present to discuss basic match racing strategy.
