Waterfront happenings

Grove Harbour Marina has applied for permits to build an extension to one of its existing docks and has hired a lobbyist to help them out. The Waterfront Implementation Committee saw the plans superimposed on an aerial photo and concerns were raised about the proposed dock, which could affect existing channels and impede access to Shake-A-Leg and Monty's Marina.

Also, regarding the dockmaster building for Dinner Key, preliminary plans will be presented next month at the Waterfront Advisory Board and the Implementation Committee. Apparently the building will have to be further back from the water than is shown in the Waterfront Master Plan. The original plan did not take into account the 50 foot setback, which is the law, regarding structures at the waterfront.
