Potential changes to Grove traffic patterns

The Coconut Grove BID in conjunction with the City of Miami, Commissioner Sarnoff's Office, and Miami-Dade County, will present a conceptual planning meeting and opportunity for public input which will address potential changes in pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns in the commercial core of Coconut Grove. This meeting of the BID Board of Directors will take place on Tuesday, March 30, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Chambers of Miami City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive).

The changes to be discussed will enable the Grove to become significantly more pedestrian and bike friendly.

This meeting will explore changes to Mary Street, McFarlane Road, South Bayshore Drive, Grand Avenue, Main Highway, and Virginia Street. The project, if pursued, will potentially impact adjacent roads and sidewalks.

This public meeting is open to the general public, property owners in the business improvement district, BID Board members, and representatives of hotels, restaurants and retailers from the Grove.

Contingent upon votes of the BID Board, the City will proceed with a sidewalk-widening and refurbishment project and the County will conduct a traffic analysis to determine the feasibility of the conceptual traffic plan.
