Coastal Systems was hired to work on the Kennedy Park shoreline restoration and to add the floating docks to the area. They will be in charge of design and permitting to put "windows" the mangroves also trim and remove exotic growths to allow for water views.
In addition, the wetland needs to be reconnected to the tidal flow. A bay walk will be added as the final phase of the job. The current dock will be destroyed and the newly constructed dock will return to its 1988 configuration.
The Island E floating dock design and permitting project will apply for 50% matching funds from FIND (Florida Inland Navigation District). Floating docks will be constructed at Scotty’s Landing and The Chart House, which will allow for daily stops by boaters to dock, come in and enjoy the Grove and then leave. It is not a permanent dock for boat storage.
