The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Facility opened the doors of the Alex Rodriguez Educational Center last month. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony and private reception to celebrate the opening of new building was held.

The event was attended by Alex Rodriguez and City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, shown above, with other local dignitaries.

The Alex Rodriguez Educational Center, a $1.5 million project, is an 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that houses two technology labs, an area for internet use, classrooms and homework study areas and a large teen center, where kids can get together and enjoy games and equipment. Hundreds of children will use the two-story building every week. “It’s an honor to have Alex Rodriguez and Ocean Bank provide the children in our community with this great facility,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. “The Center will help the organization continue to enhance education and career preparation.”
