Woodstock is all around the Grove today

woodstock2

The Woodstock Festival is in Peacock Park today, starting at 5 pm, and if you check a few of the galleries around the village, you'll see some items to commemorate the 40th Anniversary.

Mark Cherry's IOS Gallery (3113 Commodore Plaza) has large peace sign paintings and so does the Windisch-Hunt Gallery (2911 Grand Avenue), where the artists have also been having shirt-painting parties, sort of like the coconut painting but only shirts.

Love child Theresa Callouri, in the framed photo at left and with the Hare Krishnas is ready for today's events.

Below, Kathy Wynne and Jerry Wade got in the act, too, and painted some shirts for today's festivities.

Stop in and buy a one-of-a-kind t-shirt painted by a local artist.

And look for the drum circle across the street at the old Qdoba location, right in the shade. People are bringing their own drums to join the drummers that will be there. It's from 3 to 5 pm.

The Bookstore has a whole 1960s and Woodstock section, too.
