Saying farewell to Johnny Woodruff

The memorial service for Johnny Woodruff, who passed earlier this month, will take place at Scotty's Landing on Thursday, August 20 at 3:00 pm.

Johnny loved Scotty's, dined there often and said many times that it was one of his favorite places to go. He loved Coconut Grove immensely. Everyone is invited to speak about Johnny and afterwards they will scatter his ashes in the waters of Biscayne Bay. Thereafter, everyone is invited to enjoy a few beers at Scotty's Landing and reminisce about the life of a very unique man.

From last week's Sun-Sentinel: "John Holland Woodruff grew up in Miami Shores and emerged from the 1960s Coconut Grove counterculture to become a City Hall/County Commission gadfly -- long '60s ponytail intact under an ever-present white hat."
