Another coconut painting story

coconuts1
Friday night, we had another coconut painting party. For those who are sick of coconut painting stories, you are free to close the page now.

Anyway, it's sort of turning into a nice Friday night tradition. People are staying late, past midnight. We have pizza, wine and soda and folks just pop in and out.

Tourist have stopped in. Some have read it here in the Grapevine, and just stop in as a fun thing to do on vacation and others just wander in. Young people on dates wander in and we put them to work on decorating coconuts. It's a nice memory they'll all have of Coconut Grove.

We have had Village Council members stop in and Chamber members and a lot of Grove business owners and everyone just gets very creative. It's a really great environment, very relaxing and fun. People have actually shown up the next day to paint some more, bringing friends and family with them. Naomi (in pink at left) has been doing a lot of painting and she's had family and friends come back. Tina (right, in purple) and Anton (right, in black t-shirt) really got into it and stayed late.

Steve Licata, behind them, enjoyed painting and across from Steve is a nice couple who read about it here in the Grapevine, they are from Washington, DC, and they stopped in for some painting. That's my friend Maggie between Steve and Tina. When one group would leave, another would show up, after a night out in the Grove. They would end the night by painting a few coconuts. Where else can you say you can do that on a late Friday night? Only in Coconut Grove!

We almost hate to give up the coconuts now for the scavenger hunt. I'll get into details about how the scavenger hunt will work as we get closer to July 4th.
