Is Burn Notice staying in Coconut Grove?

burn-notice3
Woot! Looks like Burn Notice may have a reprieve from their eviction from the Coconut Grove Expo Center. It looks as if Commissioner Marc Sarnoff has made an agreement with producers to allow the show to stay in the Grove for another year, if the show is picked up for its seventh season. This scene above, of Burn Notice filming outside the Expo Center last year, could actually be a larger blow up scene in the end.

Sarnoff has asked the producers to blow up the Expo Center for their last scene, which was actually talked about jokingly a few years ago. At the end of their run, they would demolish the place as part of a plot line. This will ensure that the park will of course be built on the spot and that Burn Notice will pick up the fee of demolishing the building and cleaning up the debris, which would cost about $500,000. There is no word on whether the producers have actually agreed to this, but it looks like it's a no-brainer. They want to stay, and it would cost them double that figure to move, so do the math.

Kudos to Sarnoff and to everyone else who loves Burn Notice and wants it to remain in Coconut Grove!

Now about them trees in Center Grove . . .
