FestiDan -- party with a purpose at Peacock Park

Festidan is back in the Grove Saturday, August 25 at Peacock Park. This is the sixth year of the event, third year in the Grove.

This is Dan yearly birthday party, that he turned into a chairty festival since it got so out of hand, as it grew year after year.

Four bands will be performing this year, guests are encouraged to come as if they are tailgating at a game, since the slogan is "This is Tailgating!" It starts at 2 pm and goes until around 10 pm. The last band takes the stage at 9 pm.

Everyone is welcome, 21 and over, cost is $30 at the door, $25 in advance at www.festidan.com, with the entrance fee you get all the beer you want, provided by the sponsors.

It's very casual -- t shirts and sandals are the norm.

The charity that benefits is the ALS Foundation, which was founded to help fund scientific research to fund a cure for the disease commonly known as "Lou Gehrigh's Disease." It's all done in honor of German German Muñoz, a friend who sucombed to the disease.

Our photographer Ari will be out and about, so look for him and we'll post your pictures in the Grapevine and Facebook the day after.

Here are pics from last year.
And the year before.
