New mural and Art Attack part of Gallery Walk

Blue Moon Studio is getting a new look thanks to the collaborative mural featuring the works of artists Chris Riggs for Mayor, Sheri Friedman and Oswaldo Franco, this is Chris working on the project. It's an ongoing project and more artists are going to contribute to the work.

You can see this at the Gallery Walk tonight, when Blu Moon features Ancient Images, the art of the Thangka, with artist Tim Nelsen, an artist from Tampa, who will be at the opening reception showing off his original works which combine ancient elements of traditional Tibetan Thangka painting with his contemporary interpretations of Buddhist themes.

The Gallery Walk is from 7 to 10 pm, tonight, Saturday, April 7. Blue moon is at the very top of floor at 3444 Main Highway, way above Grove Ink Tattoo Shop. While there, stop in Grove Ink and buy one of the Buy Local t-shirts from Noel!

Speaking of murals, the Coconut Grove Gallery is having an "Art Attack" presention, where live art is created within minutes, right on the spot. That's at the Mayfair Atrium, where Meme Ferre will be showing her work. Also at the Atrium, at the Jim Hunter Gallery, there is an Erika King retrospective of Erika's work from the 1960s to present. Stop by and check out the A-List, who are all sure to be in attendance.

All Grove galleries are open tonight with new installations from one end of the Grove to the other. Stop in for art, refreshments and music. The Drum Circle will be at the Mayfair Atrium from about 8 pm to 11 pm. Stop by and beat a drum and dance!
