The county plans to cut spending for the arts in the upcoming budget year and the Miami Science Museum is one of the beneficiaries on the cutting blog. There will be a Happy Hour at the Mutiny Hotel (2951 S. Bayshore Drive) to help drum up support and to help the museum collect signatures and letters addressed to the County Commission and County Mayor Carlos Alvarez to keep them from cutting funding.
The Mutiny's Happy Hour is Thursday, August 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. A $5.00 donation is requested. The donation goes towards mailings and postage for the cause.
Polar Beer and hors d'oeuvres from Atchana's Thai Restaurant will be served.
