Building a Future (BAF) will be hosting a fundraiser in Kennedy Park on Staurday, August 15. The organizers plan to rais funds for the "1000 Children Are in Need" campaign aimed at assisting child support centers in Honduras.
Fun in the Park 2009, from 10 am to 6 pm, promises to be a fun-filled day with something for everyone, including tag football, soccer, volleyball and yoga sessions. There will be water balloon fights, face painting a bounce house and lots of concessions selling cupcakes, cookies, hot dogs, sno cones and popcorn.
BAF has partnered with the Centro de Desarrollo Juvenil y Familia (Center for Youth and Family Development) in Honduras for this endeavor. The fundraising campaign intends to raise at least $12,000 to keep all eight centers open at full capacity. Less than $10 supports one child at the centers for an entire month.
