WAVING AND SMILING AT STRANGERS
Today (Friday) they are going to have a "Honk and Wave Party" on the NE corner of US 1 and SW 17 Ave. from 5 to 6 pm. Bring a sign ("Say NO" to Grove Bay!", etc.) or hold one of the signs that we will bring for you.

You can park under the Metrorail, across from the gas station.
FLYERS
On Saturday, October 19, a group is distributing flyers in different parts of the City of Miami. If you'd like to join this effort you can get flyers from Glenn and Francesca at their house between 10 am and 11 am Saturday (3533 Palmetto Ave. in the South Grove).

MEETING
On Sunday, October 20, they are having a Volunteers Meeting outside Miami City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive) from 5 to 5:30 pm. Its a chance to meet, greet, and to discuss the campaign. They will gather on the sidewalk on the north side of City Hall.

At 5:30 pm Sunday, Glenn will lead the group on a tour of the Grove Key Marina and Scotty's Landing site. Its a chance to see how the Grove Key proposal may affect our community.
Here is a short video of the Village of Center Grove meeting, it's kind of dark. It shows how upset people were when the mayor and commissioner did not show up. While it states that they were there for a Q&A on the waterfront project, I don't believe that was their intent. The Mayor was there to talk about the elections, as he is still running for mayor and the commissioner was there to give updates on the district.
The fact that the Stop Grove Bay people were there was the thing turning it into a Q&A session, which was not on the original agenda. Of course it just ended up being a messy situation.

Also, interestingly enough, I was thinking about this and the same people that want to build 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurants on the waterfront, to bring lots of people to the Grove, are the same ones who wish to close the Seminole Boat Ramp, to keep all the out-of-towners from Kendall, Hialeah and such from coming here and clogging the streets and "using our Grove." It's not part of this Grove Bay project, but it has been discussed as part of the main Waterfront Master Plan.
Vote NO on November 5.
