Where's Olav? He's at The Grove Spot!
Everyone has been wondering where Olav Smit has been. Olav's Pommes and Pane Café is closed and everyone is scratching their heads. Well look no further than next door at the former Anokha space -- 3324 Virginia Street. It's Olav's new place called The Grove Spot.
As you enter the huge space you are taken by the brick walls and dark wood cabinets, the full service bar takes over one full wall at the front, the green piano is the focal point. The stained concrete floors flow into the main dining area, where a large tv is centered on the wall. At the very back is a private meeting room, available for parties or meetings of any kind. Movies and presentations can be shown on the large projection screen.
The best part is that the food is the same. Olav has been keen on keeping his specialties and just enhancing them a bit. Entertainment will fill the space inside and out and hopefully this will become Olav's dream -- the new hang out for locals. It's a fun, comfortable place, you'll feel welcome the moment you enter. The soft opening will possibly be mid-week for breakfast.
At this moment a cool, new image is being painted outside the building, making it a true Grove spot. We'll show you that tomorrow.
