The Great Taste of the Grove has announced the restaurants participating in this year's event, included are: Chart House, Al Fresco, Mayfair Grille, Atchana’s East West Kitchen, Sandbar Sports Grill, Los Ranchos, Bizcaya at the Ritz-Carlton, Panorama at the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel, Ideas, Nespresso Business Coffee Solutions, Mr. Moe’s, Johnny Rockets, Crepe Maker, and Al Fresco. Ideas and Johnny Rockets are new this year.

“Best of the Taste” awards are given out to participating restaurants every year. These awards recognize outstanding taste and presentation and are voted on by local judges with professions ranging from chefs to food critics to culinary instructors.

This year’s festival boasts a panel of exceptional judges including Chef Paul LeBlanc of Miami Purveyors, Chef Hugh Sinclair of Irie Spice Personal Chef Catering Service and culinary media personality, Linda Gassenheimer. Also joining the group is famed crime novelist, Jeff Lindsay, best known for his novels about sociopathic serial killer, Dexter Morgan. In 2006, Showtime adapted Lindsay’s first Dexter novel into a television series now in its fourth season.

Admission to the festival is complimentary and food tickets are available ranging from $1.00 to $8.00.

This year's event is Saturday, January 9, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday, January 10, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. I am one of the volunteers in the Rum Booth. Look for me, I'll treat you right. :)
