A resolution was approved by the Business/Resident Liaison subcommittee at Tuesday night's meeting to delve into the prospect of creating a beach on one of the spoil islands off the coast of Coconut Grove.
"Spoil Island E" is 12 acres conveniently located for public access and Dinner Key Marina will soon be providing launch service to moorings adjacent to the spoil island, so, put two and two together and you get a beach shuttle right off the coast of Coconut Grove.
Burn Notice has been paying $20,000 a month for the lease of the Expo Center and as requested at a City Commission meeting, the money is being put into the Coconut Grove Waterfront Master Plan, which seems to fit into the beach aspect. This or other funding is being requested for the project.
