The Phoenix Rises — A Day of Remembrance, will be the theme tomorrow night, September 11, at The Bookstore in the Grove (corner of Virginia and Grand) from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
The day (September 11), and for many even the moment, is emblazoned in our consciousness: flames billowing, the towers crumbling, and the ash drifting for miles. Disaster. Yet when something crumbles and dies, rebirth and redemption are always possible.
Celebrate this “Day of Remembrance” in the company of friends and wordsmiths at The Bookstore. Whatever your preferred genre — poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, drama — plan to read for 5-7 minutes from original work or your favorite writer. Or just come and enjoy the readings.
