The American Cancer Society is still signing up teams for the May 29 Relay for Life, which is in Peacock Park, right here in the Grove.
This is the sixth year for the popular event. It's always been seen as a vendor fair but they are trying to change that image. The theme this year is Marga-RELAY-ville, it's a tropical, laid-back event and that is what they want people to feel.
It's an all night thing -- imagine you and your friends hanging out in the park all night. At intervals, one member will walk around the park, then they tag another member and that member goes around. Team members waiting to walk can hang out, sleep, visit with friends, meet new people and even enjoy the catered food by Chef Markus.
