There was a call out last month to raise funds ($16,000) for teachers for the summer school program at Coconut Grove Elementary School and also to overhaul the school's ball field and thanks to the community, the goal has almost been met.
"We are very happy that you've taken an interest in our school and that so many people in our community have come forward to help us out," said reading teacher Maria Orjeda.
