They're paying it forward, starting with fundraiser

Focus on Tomorrow, a non-profit group, working to bring creativity to public schools is having it's first fundraiser at Paragon Grove 13 tomorrow, Wednesday, September 12.

The event will be a dinner and movie. The group, all alumni of G. Holmes Braddock High School in Miami will be raising funds to help restore the television program at the school that inspired many of them to become journalists. The program was discontinued in 2010.

For $35 you get a light dinner, free drink and see the movie "The Words." It promises to be a wonderful social mixer with all proceeds going to their mission. A raffle and prizes are part of the evening, too.

The event starts at 6:30 pm.

Christina Vazquez, Channel 10 news reporter went to G. Holmes Braccock and got her start in tv news from participating in the school's humble tv station. Christina will be hosting the event tomorrow.
