How do we know fall has sprung? Because the Barnacle Under Moonlight concerts are back and we're not being a wisecracker, but Valerie is. That's Valerie Wisecracker, who will bring her genre-spanning acoustic music and social commentary to the Barnacle stage on Friday, September 10.
Valerie is known to lampoon Disney in "The Mouse That Ate Orlando" and to celebrate Oscar Thompson, a Florida hero. The concert is on the Barnacle's back lawn from 7 to 9 pm, gates open at 6 pm. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids 6 through 9, children under 6 are free. For today only, get two adult admissions for just $7 at Dealtificate.
The Barnacle Historic State Park (3485 Main Highway) is located in downtown Coconut Grove, across the street from Greenstreets. Blankets or lawn chairs and coolers are welcome, but pets are not permitted at the concerts. Proceeds from The Barnacle under Moonlight Concert Series support special projects at the park sponsored by The Barnacle Society, Inc., which is a volunteer nonprofit,citizen-supported organization created to generate public awareness, education, and financial support for the preservation and maintenance of this historic home.
