It's a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon

While you're out bopping around the Grove today, stop into the Mayfair Antiques and Collectibles Market. While they aren't scheduled to have their main event until next weekend, when the vendors are inside and out, they do have the inside show open today and it's air conditioned and they are ready to bargain!

I saw them bringing some elegant items in yesterday, fresh from the antique fields or wherever antiques are grown.

Stop by for a little bauble or maybe something really grand like a beautiful piece of furniture.

The Antique Market is at the Promenade at Mayfair, on Grand Avenue, near Mary Street. It's easy to find.

Lots of fun at the Summer Rendezvous block party

The Summer Rendezvous block party on Commodore Plaza started off slow last night, but picked up steam as the night went on. It reminds me of a lot of summer block parties I went to when I was younger when I would visit New York each summer. It's got a great neighborhood feel.

Last week she was the Statue of Liberty, this week a colorful butterfly. Who will she be next week? Daniela Viotti is usually our angel in the center of town. At right is artist Audrey Scott doing her thing right in the center of Commodore Plaza.


The crowds danced to two bands on either end of Commodore. There was a lot of foot traffic and lots of music, food and drink.

Refresh Miami meets at DoubleTree Hotel this month

Brian Breslin and his crew have moved Refresh Miami to the DoubleTree Hotel for this month. Last month it was on Commodore Plaza at the Arts and Minds Center.

This is a community of web professionals and enthusiasts who meet monthly. Everyone is welcome, Refresh Miami is free. Web designers, developers, entrepreneurs, marketers and students come looking to "refresh" the tech scene in South Florida.

Summer Rendezvous block party on Commodore Plaza

Lucas had the whole street to himself for awhile last week, as Commodore Plaza was made ready for the Saturday night Summer Rendezvous block party.

It's on again tonight!

Stop by. Shop, dine and unwind on the plaza from 6 pm to 4 am. There is live music, food, drinks and lots of people have a great time.

There is plenty of parking in the lots surrounding the Center Grove and lots of valet parking also available.
