Local artist presents "Carried Away" for Art Basel

All's Fair in Love and War.

Local artist Gianna DiBartolomeo is exhibiting her recent work in "Carried Away," during Art Basel Week. The solo show is appearing in a pop-up gallery in Wynwood at 166 NW 29 Street.

Carried Away was inspired by the idea of life and passion coming together and includes Gianna's work "Touch" (a bright colorful large-scale paint on wood work) and "All's Fair in Love and War," which features thousands of metallic gold toy soldiers.

Carried Away's opening reception is Saturday, December 7 from 6 to 9 pm. The exhibit will be available daily from December 5 to 8. (11 to 7 on Thursday; 11 to 9 on Friday; 11 to 9 on Saturday and 11 to 5 on Sunday).

Touch

Gianna is a local artist, born and raised in Miami. She employs a process-oriented methodology; she believes all the steps involved in making the piece are equally important as the final piece. A uniting theme is repetition in the work, such as thousands of pailettes or innumerable paint drops. The tedious and repetitious processes stimulate Gianna's analytical mind. Each step of the process garners new discoveries along the way.
