Lots of eclectic, clean design at Design Miami

Went to the premier of Design Miami yesterday, which was a premier event for the press. The main event opens today on South Beach as part of Art Basel week. The large Design Miami tent is located across from the Convention Center.

 We were welcomed with champagne and heard the line up for the week. There are lots of presentations along with the new designs from around the world. Even Martha Stewart will be present on Friday to give a little talk about design.

Design Miami is more about furniture and furnishings rather than typical art in the form of paintings and sculptures although there are a lot of interesting pieces that can fall into the sculpture category. This lamp was one of my favorite pieces.
