Coconut Grove Arts Fest donates to MCI

The Coconut Grove Arts and Historical Association, producers of the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, recently presented a scholarship donation to the Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) at Miami Dade College (MDC).  Presented by the Association’s President Monty Trainer and fellow board members, the presentation took place at Tuyo restaurant in the college’s downtown Wolfson Campus.

Funds provided by the organization provide financial assistance to student scholars looking to complete a two-year Associate in Science degree, complete with hands-on instruction by some of the world’s best professional chefs. Established by late Association Board Member and Arts Festival Culinary Pavilion Founder Gary Ciuca, the MCI scholarship allows for a legacy in developing future culinary artists. 
The non-profit Coconut Grove Arts and Historical Association produces the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival, and since its inception in 1963 has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to students who attend fine arts programs in local schools.
