Uta's profound exhibit at the Dharma Studio

uta2
Local artist, Uta, had a showing at the Dharma Studio last Saturday, for the Gallery Walk. One of the most popular pieces was the piece called "Pro-Found," which started out as a garden rug, but ended up as a wall hanging. Uta felt it was too nice to be walked all over.

"Pro-found" means "deep meaning," to Uta. The fact that her reverence for the Earth and nature surpasses anything else and that she was able to conjure up this beautiful spiral from such simple material. Because of that, "Pro," meaning a prefix indicating favor for some system, idea or opinion and "Found," meaning that her conscience, her spirit and her awareness found the brown paper destined to be disposed of without further thought, wishing to find a wonderful way to be creative and enable it to be useful again. Uta is big on recycling and most of her work is made from nature (leaves, wood, bark, etc.).

Lots of other works and photographs were on display, too.

A few of her award-winning pieces were also on display and for sale.
