Did you know that parking is free for the first 30 minutes in the Miami Parking Authority (MPA) lots, like the one on Oak Avenue? That's right. All MPA lots throughout the City are free for 30 minutes, so if you want to come into the Center Grove, get a coffee and be off, it won't cost you a dime, except for the price of the coffee.Also, there is a 15 minute grace period on all metered parking.
The MPA knows that their current meters are not working correctly. They are actually looking around for a different type meter from a different manufacturer. So all the bitching and moaning has paid off. The dirty little tricks the meters play with wrong times, taking money and not giving minutes, etc. hopefully will be a thing of the past.
