First Saturday Art Stroll is this weekend

The free First Saturday Coconut Grove Art Stroll is back this Saturday night, October 3 at the Streets of Mayfair Promenade (7 to 11 pm). The stroll brings together more than 40 local and international artists, musicians, dancers and food purveyors. The Antiques and Collectibles Market is on site and so is the new GroveHouse Artists Gallery.

The public can stroll through an eclectic exhibition of artists selling paintings, photos, crafts, and mixed media while listening to live music and enjoying free samplings of food and drinks.

The idea is to bring a cultural event to the streets and revive the groovy art shows and funky street life the Grove has been famous for in the past. A kids' arts and crafts area is featured where they can draw and paint with Captain Art the local kids favorite art teacher.

This month we will feature a Special Art Exhibit in loving Memory of a Great Artist, Pedro Amador who was a participant in the Coconut Grove Art Stroll for the past year.

This month, there will be Japanese and Polynesian dance performances by Etnia Fusion and the rock band “3 Sheets to the Wind” will play pop favorites. “The Grove has been known as an Art Mecca and we want to invite people to a free event that provides a great night of entertainment and culture,” says Johnny Valdes, Founder and Director of the Stroll..
