Italian restaurant planned for Commodore Plaza

Looks like we may have a new upscale Italian restaurant planned for Coconut Grove. The former Cita's place at 3176 Commodore Plaza has been purchased.

The 1965 free-standing structure needs a lot of rehab, it's been abandoned for two years now. MMA Real Estate is getting busy on the refurb and hopefully we'll  have a new restaurant in town soon. They have an incredible back patio space which feels very old-Florida and Key West-like.

“MAA Real Estate’s decision to purchase in Coconut Grove is a further testament to the continued rebounding commercial real estate market happening all over South Florida,” said RESF Commercial's Gabriel Gonzalez. “I am excited to see this property converted from an abandoned shell to a jewel of a restaurant in the ever popular Commodore Plaza. I can’t think of a better group of restaurant operators who understand what the Grove means to Miami and long-time locals”

RESF Commercial's Director of Commercial Real Estate, Gabriel Gonzalez represented 3176 Commodore Plaza seller(s) in the transaction. Ricardo Dupond of Cervera Real Estate represented the buyers, MAA Real Estate.

Also coming to the Grove is the new place on Main Highway next to Greenstreets called Bar Nickle sort of named after the Barnacle across the street "Bar Nickle," get it? It was going to be called Hoops, but they changed the concept and the name. Stay tuned.
