It's like a little piece of Paris
Good news for you art lovers and better news for Carbonell lovers. The Manuel Carbonell sculptures at the Mayfair Atrium will be around for awhile. The whole setup has been likened to a Parisian gallery by some art lovers. Ricardo Gonzalez III, above, was shining up the art this past weekend. Ricardo is the worldwide agent for the works of Carbonell, his late uncle.
The Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery brought the works to the Grove for Art Basel week, in December and we've been lucky to have the art here ever since. It's been changed out a bit and some pieces have been taken and new ones added, so it is an ever-changing sculpture garden.
So many locals and vistors have been enjoying the work. It's quite impressive as you come up the steps from the Florida Avenue side. People have even commented on the view from Mayfair parking garage entrance on Florida Avenue. They say it's quite impressive to drive in to park and see the magnificent works. Now if we can only get those Dali pieces back in Miami that were being shown downtown last week.
