Direct from their triumphant debut at last month's Gallery Walk, Trina Collins and The Paper Bag Heads are taking paper couture to the next level. They want the future fashion designers of Coconut Grove to join them at the August 6 Gallery Walk for the "Be Your Own Paper Doll" Fashion Show.You'll need to register at Out of Africa (across from the Improv at 2911 Grand Avenue, in the Promenade) by August 1, if interested. Then the hard part starts, you'll need to design an ensemble (dress, shirt, pants, skirt, suit, etc.), or an entire collection if you dare.
The fashions must be made completely out of paper (news, wax, rice, wrapping, manila envelopes). Then on Gallery Walk night, which is August 6, you'll have your fashions shown as models parade around the fountain at the Mayfair Promenade. Hopefully they will take to the streets like they did with the Paper Bag Heads last month, people loved that.
