Bacardi Miami Sailing Week is winding down. Today is the last day of racing and tomorrow the awards are given out.
It's been a week of regattas and events around Coconut Grove. Home base is the Coral Reef Yacht Club with support of Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, US Sailing Center, Shake a Leg and Coconut Grove Sailing Club.
The Sail the Grove group has promoted various Grove businesses and the businesses had specials on various nights, taking turns feting the sailors and their families.
All three major regattas this season (Orange Bowl, Rolex and Bacardi) used Grove hotels for accommodations. Bacardi had all of their group stay in Grove hotels where in the past, sailors and their families were spread out and stayed in Brickell and downtown hotels.
The long six month regatta season is winding down. We'll miss seeing the sailors around town.
