Above are Gary Ciuca, co-chairman of the Chamber's January event, with Prince Media Development’s President Heather Bettner, who oversees all event operations and sponsorship sales. With them are Lupe and Tony Noboa, Tony is president of the Chamber.
Also in attendance were Monty Trainer, Camille DePhillips, Sue McConnell, Sylvia Quinn, Katherine Phillips, Richard Issa, Erica and Adam Kutner, Antoinette Baldwin, David Guzikowski, Mary McDonald, Michelle Alvarez, Doreen LoCicero, Erika King and so many more friends, it really was a great turnout.
Some of us joked about putting the Grove "characters" in a reality show, it's funny how we are all at odds in the day and then at night, bygones are bygones and we can all party and hang out together as friends. Lots of good reality tv there.
Antoinette said the name of the show should be "Desperate Grovites," which we all liked. I joked about us being right at the pool's edge and as usually happens in a reality show, someone ends up in the pool, so it was the perfect setting.
Antoinette had some good news about the King Mango Strut -- she and Glenn Terry met with City Manager Pete Hernandez, who mediated, and they had a nice discussion on how to make the Strut happen this year. Which it will. Details to come.
The Great Taste of the Grove is January 9 and 10 this year, in Peacock Park. Look for me in the rum booth (selling, not drinking, well, maybe I'll have a taste).
