Ursula Hendedahl Hughs

I was saddened to hear that Ursula Hendedahl Hughs passed away on Memorial Day. Ursula was a well known Grove artist. She created one of the first maps of Coconut Grove with her husband Ken Hughs, there was literally no map of Coconut Grove before that.

She painted a lot of the Grove businesses and included them in the map. She was a member of the original Grove House and the One Ear Society.

She was a war bride, Ken is also an artist, they met in Germany during World War II, they have a son named Walter.

There will be a memorial service for Ursula on Monday, June 8 at 7 pm at St. Stephens (2750 McFarlane Road).

Here birthday is July 23 and an exhibit of her art is in the works.
