The Block Captains are meeting this afternoon at The Bookstore to discuss the Coconut Scavenger Hunt which is part of the July 4th Celebration.Grove Bucks are going to be prizes. Most likely in $5.00 denominations, winners will win a bunch and be able to spend them at participating locations around the Grove. At a later time, maybe a week, the merchants can turn in the Grove bucks to "the banker" for reimbursement.
The bank money will come from donations from the participating merchants -- minimum is $20.00 each. This will not be refunded, it will be used to fund the prizes.
There will be a golden coconut, which, if found, will offer the grand prize, maybe a hotel stay with all meals included or something like that.
