The No Barriers guests enjoyed their Coconut Grove stay
The No Barriers Festival was a great success. Everyone had a good time and they really liked Coconut Grove. I wad told that by many of the visitors. One couple form New England was very impressed, they felt that we had our own little bit of New England right here in Florida and they are considering moving down, where in the past, they weren't very crazy about Florida. Coconut Grove changed their mind.
I ran into Jack King again, here with the pink hat. He was very proud of Shake-A-Leg, the home of the No Barriers Festival. He was telling everyone about the programs and even the security guard who was hired for the day was quite intersted. Lots of media was out covering the event, there was someone, somewhere, being filmed at any given moment.
Lots of people went out boating, some tried out the scuba tank and the rock climbing wall on site and many went on day trips to other places in Miami, like the Seaquarium. I invited many people to the Center Grove for the Art Stroll.
A lot of new items were shown at Shake-A-Leg. Booths were set up in tents. There was lots to eat and it seemed almost to have an Olympic Village feel to it. There was lots of comrarderie. Being in Coconut Grove, you could say it was a village within a village. I enjoyed the visitors, I saw them all over the Grove all weekend. I hope they come back again soon. They are nice people with a great outlook on life.
