Went to the old Bertram Yacht location yesterday for the Magic City tv show auction. Bertram was used as the sound stage for the Friday night Startz show. Unfortunately, some of the sets were to be there but none were, but what made this more unique than the August Burn Notice auction was that the items here were really part of Americana in that they were actual antiques and relics from the 1950s. Classic cars were part of the mix, too.
That maroon car to the left, wasn't that the car used for James Caan's death scene? Didn't the car blow up and kill him? You can't see from the picture here, but it is all burned and damaged. The other cars have bullet holes and damaged windows.
This is a setting from a restaurant in 1959 used in the show.
Who can forget these black dial phones? There were lots of items like this including typewriters, lamps, adding machines, things from the era.
45's from the era, there were lots for sale along with the larger albums.
There were bars from different scenes and lots of pictures and photos which lined the walls, suitcases, lamps and lots of furniture which was really nice from the 1950s; something a hipster in Wynwood might use today for their home.
