Veteran's Day parade held in Village West today
It was a beautiful morning for the Veteran's Day parade, even the horses were smiling. He is smiling, isn't he?
A mini procession started at the Christ Episcopal Church in Village West and ended at the cemetery at Douglas and Franklin, where the procession will stopped for a moment of silence for fallen veterans.
Music and singing will accompanied the march. There was a school drumming group, too.
Police, including Commander Colina and our local neighborhood officers were present along with the fire department.
Neighbors came out and saluted as the parade went up Grand Avenue.
Of course, proud veterans were part of the parade.
And everyone's favorite, the old red fire truck.
After the parade and ceremony, everyone went back to the church hall for lunch, which was prepared in the church's kitchen by volunteers.
