Zen Village introduces new programs starting tonight

Zen Village (3570 Main Highway) is having Tuesday night workshops this summer. It's meditation for beginners.

Starting tonight, July 14 and running each Tuesday night through August 4, you can "balance your right and left brain."This includes theory, purpose and traditional methods for meditation. They will show you how to prepare an inner and outer environment for meditation and show you how to put mindfulness to meditation in action. The meetings are 7 to 8 pm.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, starting next week, July 20 and running through July 29, "What is Buddhism?" will be discussed from 7 to 8:30 pm. Buddhist history and theory will be discussed as well as a lesson on how to set up an alter and present offerings. Introduction to prayers, prayers beads and mantras are also offered.

A minimum donation of $100 is requested for each course and registration is required by calling 305-567-0165 or emailing
