Getting more involved may help improve business
Martin Zilber, head of the Village Council, brought up a great idea at the last Village Council meeting. He was asking for business owners to come speak to the Council about who they are and what they do.
He also brought up having a committee to deal with businesses in the Grove. I think there are so many committees and groups and don't know if that is needed.
But I was telling someone the other day that a good idea might be for restaurant and club owners to have their own group. Why not have a bar crawl or weekly happy hour or some event where the bars and restaurants can control and call the shots? I am sure that their agenda is different than say The Bookstore or the art galleries.
I see very few of the bar and restaurant owners at merchant and other meetings, I know some meetings are usually too early in the morning for some of them. They need to get more involved and maybe by starting their own monthly meeting and cooperating with each other, they can draw more business to all of their establishments through a combined effort.
